Pirmasoft RunAsSvc 1.6.159.59
=============================

RunAsSvc runs normal programs as services so that they are running in the background, even when no user is logged on.

RunAsSvc has been tested on Windows 2000 and Windows XP, but it should also run on Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 2003 Server.

You can use this program free of charge on as many computers as you want, but I don't take any responsibility for it. You use it on your own risk!


Installing RunAsSvc and creating services:
==========================================

Copy the file runassvc.exe to a suitable folder (e.g. "C:\Program Files\runassvc\"), then run the program. A Dialog will appear where you can select the EXE file to run and enter a name for the service to be created. Additionally, you can enter parameters to be passed to the program, the working directory for the program and a description for the service. After pressing OK, the service will be created and started.

To create an additional service, simly run the program once more.


Deleting services and uninstalling RunAsSvc:
============================================

To delete a service created by RunAsSvc, go to control panel / Add or remove programs and select the service to be uninstalled.

After uninstalling all services, you can simply delete the file runassvc.exe.


Version History

1.6.159.59    RunAsSvc can now be called with command line parameters and therefore be used in scripts. When calling   RunAsSvc --help   an explanation for the possible options will appear.

1.6.115.1426  The working directory can be selected with a dialog.

1.6.73.1135   The working directory for the executable can be configured.

1.6.66.1313   Fixed an error with parameter passing to the program to be started.
